Comparison of amplitude estimates in the single trial estimation of evoked potentials

چکیده
A method for the single trial estimation of the evoked potentials is presented. The method is based on the regularized least squares scheme. An approach to single trial estimation of multi channel evoked potentials is derived by applying additional information of the spatial correlation of the channels to the estimation. Amplitude estimates obtained with these methods are compared. The performance of the methods is evaluated using real data of target responses in the P300 test. The multi channel approach is shown to give realistic and comparable information about the amplitude differences of the P300 peak between different channels. Keywords— Evoked potentials, single trial estimation, multi channel, regularization

Comparison of the Wave Amplitude of Visually Evoked Potential in Amblyopic Eyes between Patients with Esotropia and Anisometropia and a Normal Group
Background: We compared the wave amplitude of visually evoked potential (VEP) between patients with esotropic and anisometropic amblyopic eyes and a normal group. Methods: The wave amplitude of VEP was documented in 2 groups of persons with amblyopia (15 with esotropia and 28 with anisometropia) and 1 group of individuals with normal visual acuity (n, 15). The amplitude of P100 was recorded mono...
متن کاملTaking into account latency, amplitude, and morphology: improved estimation of single-trial ERPs by wavelet filtering and multiple linear regression.
Across-trial averaging is a widely used approach to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of event-related potentials (ERPs). However, across-trial variability of ERP latency and amplitude may contain physiologically relevant information that is lost by across-trial averaging. Hence, we aimed to develop a novel method that uses 1) wavelet filtering (WF) to enhance the SNR of ERPs and 2) a mul...
متن کاملComparison of the extratympanic electrocochleography in human and rabbit
Electrocochleography (ECoG) records the electrophysiologic activity of the most peripheral part of the auditory system, the inner ear cochlea and the 8th nerve. Auditory evoked potentials being recorded are Cochlear Microphonic (CM) and Summating Potential (AP). In order to provide the proper background for laboratory research and introducing an ECoG curve of a model animal, it was decided to...

Introduction: Measuring the size of motor evoked potentials (MEPs) induced by transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is an investigational technique to show the level of corticospinal excitability however, some of the fundamental methodological aspects of TMS (such as the effects of inter-pulse intervals (IPI) on MEP size) are not fully understood, this issue raises concerns about the re...
متن کاملThe Effect of Cognitive Tasks on the Ocular Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials in Healthy People
Introduction: The majority of the daily life activities involve the concurrent performance of simultaneously challenging motor and cognitive activities, such as talking while walking, which requires the vestibular system for balance. Functional balance allows the brain to interpret and integrate the sensory information from our physical and social environment. This study aimed to investig...
